Mudman.

It does involve the Vintage Air, the 4 holes that were already in the smooth firewall were going to create me a lot of problems with the brackets and definitely getting the hard lines thru. So I pondered on it last night and decided to weld the holes and drill new ones using the panel supplied by vintage air as template. I’ll post progress pics as I go....

and then after that, what's next
Just kidding, all you do and attention to detail is what makes the truck yours and a nicer build, don't forget to drive it and enjoy it.

My buddy came over this morning for an extra hand in the sheet metal removal and I told him since we were this far into it might as well do an Ls swap. The wife didn’t think it was very humorous!!!!
Might leave that alone for a couple years:waah:

When I saw the firewall and read you were going to switch over to the GenIV kit for the 67-72 C10's, I wondered what you were planning for the lines. Now I know. Did you get the paint code from the PO or just having the store do a color match?

I got about a quart from the previous owner, but the can also has all the info on it to if I would ever need more!!!

Thanks Mudman, I'm trying not to hurry to fast but trying to get it done before I go back to work next Monday. I took off from Christmas to Jan 15 till the permits came thru on our next job.

Well I appreciate fast work, nice to see a change, I tend to put everyone else's projects before mine, but they do pay for my build that way, always interesting to see your changes and ideas.
Mudman.

I’m getting close to finishing up the “changes” till I drive it this summer and see how things pan out!!!

While waiting around for primer to dry and getting everything ready to spray the red I did manage to drill the holes and install the fender emblems

Remenber when the fender badges said 910 or 920, can't remember why, was a lot of years ago that the truck I saw at mud drags had it and someone explained, you simple 10 is a nice touch.
Mudman.

I may be wrong, but I think the Canadian GMC’s were the 910/920

Thanks Keith, here’s the finished product. I’m very happy with it, I haven’t made up my mind about color sanding and buffing yet. The paint laid out pretty smooth, see what it looks like in a day or two!!!

Everything is good here. I'm always browsing for trucks though, it's cheaper than actually owning one lol.

This weekend I focused on finishing everything inside so all I have left is put the sheet metal back on. The Vintage Air is complete except for having the ends crimped, the column and wheel is installed, the neutral safety switch about ate my lunch on this one but I got it!!!!

Your build looks great Jason, if you don't mind my asking, what steering wheel is that?
