Exhaust question

truck is a 76K20 that has a 350 V8 in it.
I decided to bite the bullet because the old exhaust was rotting and the tail pipe was hanging so I called up Jegs and told them I was looking for a decent exhaust that wouldn't break the bank and had to fit on my truck. they sent me some long tube headers and an exhaust system with thrush mufflers. I told them I wanted a nice throaty sound but not obnoxiously loud at highway speeds, I still wanted to hear my radio.
This kit is horrible sounds like a factory exhaust and has very little good sound at idle
What do you all recommend???? id like to find something that I could use also on my Monte Carlo

Re: Exhaust question

I'm sure they gave you "turbo" mufflers. just awful.

Try swapping them out with a chambered design. I like the inexpensive 2 chambers. I think jegs has them under the Jones name and Summit has a house brand muffler. I have them on my 71 and they sound good, not too loud, and not expensive.

Re: Exhaust question

Chambered to me always sound better then turbo mufflers.

My personal favs are glass packs, and Magna flow mufflers. If you want them a bit more mellow get the longest versions you can fit.
