My new '50 - good ones are still out there!

Been looking for just the right original AD truck for a couple + decades. My son who is a lineman for the power company spotted this in a backyard he was working in. He struck up a conversation with the owner and long story short he was ready to sell. Hasn't been on the road for 35 years. This is after a couple of hours of cleaning it up in the driveway. Should I have wheels turning again by spring!

I certainly will once it can move under its own power again! The 216 is locked up from sitting, zero brakes, dry rotted tires, etc...... Once all those issues are addressed he can certainly see the road again. One of the most solid originals I've ever seen.

It's never been stored in a garage ever, been sitting outside all these years. It has been repainted once in its lifetime, previous owner thinks sometime in the early 70s. The paint must be some wonderful asbestos lead-based iron wear lacquer. It is held up remarkably well all these years. Only worn to the primer on the roof and parts of the hood.

On the brakes, don't try to save anything. Put a new master, wheel cylinders all the brake lines and hoses, it's so damn easy it's crazy to replace everything, just do it.
