1969 c10 can't make my mind
ok hear me out I had a 1968 c10 swb since I was in High school 1993, a year ago my son started driving and I gave him the truck, the truck had 4/6 drop but it was a little too much for a daily driver, now it has a 2.5/4 drop with 15x8 rally wheels 225/70/15 front and 255/70/15 out back.
fast forward December 26th, late Christmas I buy a 1969 2wd SWB fleetside, and don't know and can't make my mind up, should I leave it stock height or lower it. what I do know, I want to leave the original patina and for wheels 15x6 white steelies with dog dish center caps. if I lower the truck it will be 2 front and 3 on the rear, with 235/75/15 all corners. if I keep it stock rear height how can I bring the front up to seat level front and back. tires I'm thinking 30/9.50/15. the truck has no rear coils at this time, will 3/4 hd rear coil springs be to much for the rear |

Re: 1969 c10 can't make my mind
I’ve got a ‘69 short step. 4.5”/7” drop. Leaf spring flip so no a lot of choice in rear. Not my daily, but drive it anywhere anytime. 235 55 17 in front and 275 55 17 rear. Added front sway bar when I did disc conversion.
17” wheels are with modern size/style tires so worth it. I’d do same all over again. My truck is original paint patina but not as much as yours. If I had your truck I’d do same except run 5” coil in rear and tailor height with a 1” or 2” inch block. IMO, 3/4 tone coil will hurt driveability. Call ECE with your credit card and be good to go! |
