Fuel pumps

What year did they change from a non return type pump to a return type pump? I've got a 2000 and not sure which pump to use on it. Its a drive by cable motor

On a truck engine they went to returnless fuel system in 04, 99 on Corvette & Camaro.

And the easiest way to tell is..... if there are two fuel fittings on the fuel rail, you will need to run a return line. If there is just one fitting, it is a returnless style, no return line from the engine is needed.

Which style you have will make no difference on what pump you use. If you have a returnless system, you will just need to use a Vette filter/regulator. This is a combo fuel filter and a fuel pressure regulator that has a return outlet back to the tank built in to it. WIX part #33737.

I'm switching to returnless because hopefully an aftermarket intake will be in my future someday, and I don't want to re-plumb the fuel system if that ever happens.
