2" Drop Trailing arms
Well, I finally have the tubular dropped trailing arms the way I want them, and figured I would post up some "spy pics". I won't be officially releasing them for another week or so. These are for a board member's blazer project.;)
They are 2" DOM tubing with a 2" drop built in. They will be compatible with either coil-springs or an airbag. The front joint is a polyurethane flex joint (rebuildable and greasable). They are compatible with factory, factory replacement, or Porterbuilt trailing arm crossmember. I have a few tricks up my sleeve for the Porterbuilt trailing arm x-member and will be running a special on the set-up. http://i390.photobucket.com/albums/o...s/DSC05459.jpg |

The factory arms have a 3/4 through bolt, and the factory bushing is slightly wider than this flex joint as well. The solution to adapting these arms to a factory x-member are a couple small machined adapter spacers that will be included. If the arms are purchased with the Porterbuilt trailing arm x-member then there will be no need for the machined adapter pieces. Pics of the trailing arm x-member to be available for this kit should be surfacing soon.... |

Re: 2" Drop Trailing arms
Is your jig flexible enough to move the spring pad forward?
... not sure why I am asking? I'm currently out of money. :waah: |
Re: 2" Drop Trailing arms
Nate how will they work with a super trac bar from early classic enterprises? does it affect anything else? Even with these, is the frame still going to be your limiting factor ( how big of a notch) of how low you can go.

After buying Kevin all that nice shiny shop equipment, I can only imagine how thin the wallet is! |

The trailing arms will still have the same contact issues with the frame if hoping for an extreme drop. This will still leave the rails a few inches from the pavement. |

Re: 2" Drop Trailing arms
tic-toc tic-toc you ant kidding, and it's not all about suspension. I mean you have your motor out so you can install the drop member so why not do a little something on it, then the trany, maybe some new parts, how about some paint.... on and on we go! LOL Nathan build's some super nice stuff and everything is cutting edge, i love it. Some times i think to nice and my wallet can't keep up!
