Bucket Seats

Anyone put any newer bucket seats in a suburban? i have a 91 burban with bench seats and as nice as they are i don't like bouncing around in it I'd prefer buckets from like my 03 chevy, tried searching couldn't find much any help appreciated

Sounds like your typical "conversion" seats. Pretty common in the custom van, Suburban conversion days. Most of them just bolted to the floor. Some actually had plates on the bottom too, but not all.

i'm putting 4 buckets from an 03 silverado in my burb. I wanted to go that route because the seats have seat belts built in so i could shave the nasty ones hanging from the pillar. you have to channel the floorpan so the headrest is not scraping the ceiling, haha. They're not bolted in yet because the douche who had my truck for over a year just did the frame and suspension, everything else looked like hammered dog ass.

oh yeah, if you do go with 4 buckets like i did, be careful, there are appx. 14,000,000,000 different colors and patterns, and they're all just a tiny bit different, hahaa

you can't see it real well because of the primer, but he had to cut channels into the floor pan to sink the seat down a little.

I actually got 2 of the 4 seats put in and where the seat belt clicks in is bolted to the seat and lines up perfectly with my original shoulder belts, swivel works great, dual armrests, a little more padding than regular buckets very pleased with using original bolt holes here's some pics more later this week

Re: Bucket Seats

corey are you talking about just installing on the front only because the floor pan sits way taller or did you try back as well because my buckets are on about a 10in swivel pedestal in the rear and i got 8in of headroom-15in between the actual seats, 7in with armrests down and 1-1/2in between seat and door panel

weather was nice out for once and no school so i decided to get the seats basically permanently in but couldn't find any grade 8 washers so i settled for cheap free ones for now drilled out the plug welds on body and used the nuts below them i decided to go that way because it has a reinforcing plate for the original bench
