Re: Steering column bracket
Here you go. A picture of the 3 brackets under the column. thanks to LOCDOC! A junkyard is going to be your best bet though!
The bracket shouldn't be to hard to make. Flat stock wrapped around the column with bolt holes.:chevy: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1410745988 |

Thanks Andy! The small narrow bracket goes in first and is the one that actually holds the column to the dash. It uses two 5/16 x 1 inch bolts. It is different on the ends so make sure you have it installed correctly. The large one is the pedal stop plate and has two small square holes in it for the pedal bumpers. It uses four 5/16 x 3/4 inch bolts. The fancy one is the trim plate for the gap between the column and dash. It fits over the rubber gasket. It has two #8 or #10 (can't remember for sure) x 3/4 pan head sheet metal screws.... Like Andy said, salvage yard if you have any close. If not check on the parts board on here. Anyone that parts trucks on there will have what you need. LockDoc |

Hey Scurvy, since you are a new member here, not sure if you know about lmc truck and truckandcarshops, good places to buy aftermarket parts, there are others also. http://www.lmctruck.com/chevrolet/ http://www.truckandcarshop.com/6072.html

Re: Steering column bracket
Sorry to revive this old thread from back in January but I am in need of these parts. I have a 1969 C10 and The previous owner of my truck ripped out all of the steering column brackets and jammed a mid 80's van column in the truck and rigged it up bad. I have taken it out and installed an IDIDIT column but unfortunately can not mount it at the dash because everything is missing. I have been searching vendor websites and can not find these parts can anyone point me in the right direction?

Re: Steering column bracket
wrecking yards are your best bet or check the parts for sale board on this site,I dont think I have any more of these parts, but Im going to pick n pull Friday, will take a look for you

Re: Steering column bracket
El Dorada Jim Thanks buddy I truly wish it were that easy but unfortunately for me there are NO salvage yards at all where I live. There are a couple just over an hour or so away but none of them have any 67-72 trucks
|
Re: Steering column bracket
I went to four pick n pulls today instead of tomorrow and not one 67-72 truck at any of them....I have a business card of a guy in Sacramento that parts these old trucks out, I will look for it tomorrow and give you his name and number...he will definitely have the parts you need...Jim

Re: Steering column bracket

Re: Steering column bracket
