Camaro IRS

Anyone installed a late model independent rear suspension from a camaro?

I picked up a wrecked 2018 ZL1 Camaro and was wondering if anyone has used this IRS?

I will be installing the supercharged motor and 10 speed automatic but thought maybe I could use the suspension and or brakes?

I will be installing these items on a 1970 2WD Blazer...

thanks in advance

No, but I'd ask what's the original weight of the Camaro and that of the Blazer. I wonder what the plan is for the front since the Camaro is 5 lug and the Blazer almost certainly 6.

There's a company or 2 out there that is actually selling a kit to install them into our vehicles. If I get a chance later today I'll see if I can post up a link.

I've looked in to doing a rear subframe swap for a while now. My truck is a 54 so the late model Camaro is a little too wide for me. However I looked at some late model Mustang and Jeep Cherokee also. Same problem too wide, but the subframes do appear able to be narrowed. The stub shafts can be cut and re splined by pretty much any axle shop.

I like the Jeep most of all because it is a pretty simple setup, and it's heavy duty. I haven't been able to find any at a reasonable price locally.

The Mustang however is plentiful and more reasonably priced. I also like that they come with a Torsen rear diff. and there is a ton of aftermarket.

Here's the Jeep and Mustang pics.

If you decide against the swap the ZL1 specific rear diff and axles are worth a chunk of change to a guy with an SS who’s wanting to up the power on their LT1. If it was a fifth Gen Z I’d be really interested.
I’ve seen the kits to add the 5th Gen rear cradle and suspension to a 67-72 but not for the 6th Gen.
