amp gauge swap question
there are those two fuses under the hood that run back from the shunt to the amp gauge.. can i remove both of them if i am not using the amp gauge or do the wires power something else?
thanks in advance if you know... |
Re: amp gauge swap question
"Not using the amp gauge"??? Why?? You can remove the fuses if you want, BUT -- You'll not have any way to monitor the charging system if you do.. IMO, what you're proposing is not a good idea...

Re: amp gauge swap question
i have new gauges and have put in a newer engine in it.. Want to run a volt meter instead.
so is it ok to get rid of those wires or do they feed something else? i think there is one in in the original wiring that goes to the positive side of coil and another near the drivers fender. thank you |
Re: amp gauge swap question
does someone know exactly what they go to and how its wired?

Re: amp gauge swap question
The wires that have fuse holders by the battery and by the driver side headlamp are connected to the ammeter and nothing else. You can remove them. Or you can remove one of them and use the other one for your voltmeter.

Re: amp gauge swap question
Or you can use them to power a couple of things that need 4 amp fuse protected un-switched power.
