WTB: 1958-1959 GMC grille

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys; just made an agreement to purchase a super cool 58 or 59 GMC Suburban Carryall but it is missing the grille and the middle row seat, and maybe other stuff. Mainly need a good straight white steel or chrome 58-9 GMC grille nice enough to send to the plater and get chromed.

If anyone has one of these please contact me via PM w/ price - please though - if the grille you have has serious dents, is twisted etc and will not replate nicely, I cannot use that - only looking for a survivor someone has. Does not matter if the series emblem is on it or any good because I have that.

Attached is a picture of the grille I need....Thanks!

in the end, I ended up with two or three of these - I sent the most perfect one off to be chrome plated and have a couple white steel shells I can sell. I paid 300 each I think for the shells. I then paid another 450 for a set of un-broken park light lenses w/ pigtails and cone lights, only to end up with a set of NOS ones for 1500.00 so the 450.00 set can be sold as well. You already know this stuff is next to impossible to find, so you probably don't like what I had to shell out any more than I do, but if you want any of this stuff its here - just let me know

WoW, I didn't expect such a liberal offering from you, I got lucky this weekend, I think, I found and bought this set, I should be able to pick it up today or tomorrow, I hope it is as good as it looks. Ross

That is an awesome find Ross! I actually can't believe you dug this set up somewhere. Those bumper bombs are a 1 yr only design unique to a 58 which was the last year for the bombs. They are so often mangled and beat up your set is going to make a beautiful set to run as is or rechrome for show.

After your wallet heals up a bit from this purchase PM me if you want to consider the parklight assemblies I have....I am not publicly putting them out there to be had, just occasionally mention them to 58-59 GMC enthusiasts from time to time. I paid way too much for them but at the time didn't feel I had much of a choice if I wanted it to be right and aftermarket flavors of the lenses are not done to my taste

Hey Good Morning!!! :-)
Well, I got the Grill and Bumper, the Grill is actually bent, Looks like it got hit on the RH side and twisted the whole thing, it might be easier to use the original long part of the grill from my truck together with the chrome crossbar and the chrome bumper with the big Boobs.
Jury is still out on the concept of getting it all Chromed, probably cost more then the purchase, might cost more then I paid for the truck!!!?

My Parking lights / Turn signals are in pretty good shape, there is a couple slight cracks that could be fixed with super glue and one of the lenses it looks like somebody ran the screw in too deep and pulled it through the back, I could glue a washer in there, normally I would just find another one, but everybody is talking about those like they were gold or something..? One of the bases needs a new lamp socket.

The Rest of the cab is in need of Chrome,All of it is missing, I need V8 Emblems, Hood ornament, Fender Emblems, All those pieces are on eBay, I'm not too worried about it, it was the Grill insert and boobs I was really searching for.. Fairly happy now, if U can offer any bargains on the rest, I'll be scooping it up over the rest of the summer.. Ross

Do you by chance have a Turn signal backing plate? I know they are tough, I won't ask you for any Lenses or anything, but a backing plate would be helpful Left front, Maybe a lens, but I can save this one..

GMCNUT, I tried to PM you but your inbox is full.

I see you're in Arab. I'm in Morris but my uncle in Cullman has a 55 GMC 2nd series and is looking for a couple of parts. He's looking for the GMC horn button and the "100" that goes in the grill. You don't happen to have those do you or know anyone else with some 55 parts?

Thanks,

Josh

Sorry - been on a two-week vacation and let my PM box get full on me....I probably have a 55 horn cap somewhere so I will look, but no 100 series emblems. I have a nice set of bumper bombs for a 55-56 and splash pan, lower grille guard etc if he needs any of that hard to find stuff

No spare plates - those are what costs a lot - lenses you can find sometimes, but not good backing plates

Let me know about the cap and I'll ask him about the bombs and splash pan.

Hey guys, I have one of these unicorns I would be willing to part with. I’ve been collecting parts for the past couple of years and have an extra grille that is really good driver quality. It has been re-chromed at some point and is still very bright. No dents but there are some tiny rock dings and a couple of spots where the chrome is dull. It has a full set of 4 mounting brackets that have been painted black and are very nice. No emblem or park lights, but those are easy. So 2-pc chrome grille and 4-pc brackets ready to bolt on all for $900.

I had one of these repaired and plated at a cost of $1350 and that did not include the value of the grille. If you want to keep your GMC a GMC, these are nearly impossible to find. PM me if interested.

I have a white steel one in near perfect shape with emblem and brackets from dry southern cal for only $450 + the ride. No park lights but a damn straight smooth non-rusty original grille
