327 or 292?

Which would you choose? I have a small block 327 thats tore apart waiting to get put back together; it's bored 30 over and needs a set of good heads.

The 292 is already in the truck and seems to be pretty peppy. I have seen a few turbo'd 292's but that would require a lot more work and money. Originally the plan was to just run the 292 until i got the 327 built. But with another kid on the way i'm thinking of rebuilding the 327 and sell it, keep 292.

I want the truck to almost be a daily, no winter driving i'm in PA. I wouldn't mind using the truck to pull a trailer every once in awhile. So it almost seems more economical to use the 292 assuming it would get better gas.

The 292 is already paid for and runs well so I say run it.
If I may offer some further advice, you might want to run some liquid detergent through it before your next oil change to clean up the internals then put Mobile 1 full synthetic back in it, other than that let her rip.

Personally I prefer a sbc over the inline six but there is the added expence of putting it together. I had my 327 machined and I put it together for about a $1,000, nothing fancy though, mild cam and bored .30 over with stock heads.

Thats what this 327 was when i picked it up. It sat for a year and wasn't properly stored so i tore it apart. But i was trying to find some good heads for it, once it's cleaned up i can start putting it back together.

I read a few threads on heads and there seems to be a decent deal with vortec heads from summit posted in this thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=466358

1000.00 is a good price it cost me 1700.00 for the same thing. By the time I was finished I had 2300.00 involved. But mine was a 350 instead of a 327 still small block,
