'72 Blazer 4x4 chassis and drivetrain

Looking at buying a rusty Blazer for parts. It has its original 4-bolt 350 and TH350, NP205 t-case and good 3.08 diffs, and it runs and drives. Gonna need to borrow $ to buy it, and don't want to tie up funds for long. The body is rough, and the frame is rusted out in the rear. I have a nice frame, so thinking of swapping in the engine and drivetrain, including a set of 15 x 6 Blazer rims. Wondering what it may be worth, and if there would be any interest. Mostly just looking to get back what I paid for the parts truck. Any thoughts?

I have sold / parted out 4 4x4 frames and I still have the turbo350 with the np205 and 2 complete 350 engines and a sm465 with a np205 and have not been able to sell them in 2yrs I was able to sell the bare frames so unless you already have some line up to buy what you have or you are getting every thing for free I would advise to pass.Just look at craigslist it is loaded with 4x4 parts for sale. The only parts that are selling and bring any money are D60, corp14b and a round bolt pattern 32 spline np 205 and nv4500.

Thanks for the info, duallyjams. I was hoping maybe someone might be in need of a good complete chassis for a resto, but sounds like it may be easier to sell the bare frame.
BTW, what is a "round bolt pattern 32 spline np205"?

Again - thanks for the reply.

Yes, but which one. I have a couple of the fine spline 205's that were behind TH350s.

Around here the frame is only worth it's price in scrap, so $100-150. With engine and tranny maybe $500 tops and that's even pushing it lol Most guys don't need the frames, engines, tranny's etc. There's an abundance of those items out there...it's the body everybody wants :D

Thanks - point taken. I was also thinking around $500. Mine was totalled before I got it in 1990, but came with a parts truck that had a good frame. Here in NY I've parted a few with rotten frames, including the one I'm currently looking at.

sm465-10 spline- figure 8 bolt pattern
th350-27 spline-figure 8 bolt pattern
th400-32 spline-figure 8 bolt pattern
The 6 bolt round pattern only came in 1 ton 85-89 behind a th400 with a long female 32 spline and the sm465 had a short female 32 spline in these years only.
The 10 & 27 spline np 205 are everywhere.
