Picture for Randy500(lowered K1500)

Randy500 requested a picture of my K1500 after I completed the task of lowering truck back to stock height. I've attached a before and after picture. Would like anyone to comment or share an opinion. I think truck definitely doesn't look as aggressive, but looks good at stock height. I thought the space between tire and fender arch was excessive with lift. I can now get in truck way easier and the truck rides and steers better. Only issue is front driver leaf spring must be tired, that corner of truck is approx. an inch lower than pass. side. Probably order a replacement spring this fall and see if that doesn't level it out. Hope I never have to replace a steering arm again, that was pain in …..

In my opinion, looks much better. Was that a 4” or 2.5” originally?

Was a 2" tuff country ez ride spring lift. Compared to stock it was probably lifted 2.5 inches. It always felt higher, I'm approx. 6'1" tall and it was difficult to get in truck. Felt like I was going to rip my steering column loose pulling myself in to truck.

I agree, looks much better. I will say that it looks higher than stock though, would you agree? Probably new spring do that.
I remember when you first finished it and were questioning the lift if you liked it or not, beautiful truck by the way!

It probably looks higher than stock because of the tires. They're 32x11.50 Cooper Discoverer. They measure out at about 30.25 "tall. I imagine that the original tires on K1500 and K10's were 26" or 27" tall. Probably an inch and a half of lift from the tires. Not new springs, when I bought truck, it had a 4 or 6" lift, I sold those springs for a little money plus a set of original half ton springs. I really like the cooper tires, pretty aggressive tread, but not a mudder. They're don't make hardly any noise going down the road.

I have those Coopers on my Yukon and they are very noisey. Your's will be after they get some wear on the front ones.

Try the Falken at3’s. I’m on my second set, not much noise and killer traction in the snow and mud.

It is at restorer and now rust and dent free (it did not have major issues) and is in primer— the unveiling is next month. Can’t wait to see it in person!! Will have black steelies 16.5 X 8.25 and Supertraxion old school tires, new carpet, dash, orig radio among other things— a fairly high optioned K10 SWB Cheyenne including tilt on a 4 speed, tach, manual throttle. Original engine and tranny are good!

Here are some pix
