White roof paint break lines
Where are you guys breaking the white from the body color? I’m going with body color a pillars (I think) so I’d guess that breaking the white where the drip rail meets the cab on the underneath side would be correct.

Re: White roof paint break lines
I found a few threads wit some of the info I need. Still a bit unsure of where the paint breaks between the top of the windshield and the drip rail.

Re: White roof paint break lines
Let me know what you figure out. I'd like to know as well, for future reference. I'm thinking about changing mine from 2-tone to one body color, and the cab a different color.

That area it always shaded so it's hard to see anyway. At least in photos. |
Re: White roof paint break lines
A bit confused by the question. Are you just asking for recommendations? Because if you're painting the a-pillars body color, that's not stock, so it doesn't really matter where you stop. You can do what you want.

Look at 67 two-tones, they had white tops with body colored pillars. The drip rails are body colored.

Those are cool and I have no idea how I never noticed that. I guess I never looked that closely at the 67s. Learn something new every day.

I was also curious where the painter was going to cut the line, looks like he did it same as above.

Re: White roof paint break lines
That’s it! Mines a 68 but I’m going with the 67 style. Thanks all!

Hard to go wrong with factory paint schemes, regardless of the year.
Good luck, Rg |

I guess it depends on which year your looking at and maybe the plant at which the truck was built? My is a 69 and was built in CA. It was original paint before I had it painted exactly like it was from Factory. Hope this helps.

All the above are correct...
This is a 70 GMC original paint. Painted A pillars up to and over the face of the drip rail. |
Re: White roof paint break lines
Mines a GMC also Reno. I’m painting it like yours. Thanks for posting.

Re: White roof paint break lines
Here is a previous post regarding the location of the trim for the back of the cab as noted in the factory assembly manual.
