Hubcap Decision on Steelies
4 Attachment(s)
Got the steelies on today. Period correct dog dishes would be stainless with blue. I took pictures of a few different hubcaps so others can see what they want. I drove myself nuts trying to decide (and everyone in the house and at work as well). Girlfriend started mailing me hubcaps that I already bought to feed my addiction and keep me calm. Let me know what you think! Most likely I will go with the stainless blue bowtie but my favorite is white with the blue.
Tires are 275/60/15 Mastercraft Avenger (Considering 255/70/15). Wheels are 15x8 Wheel Vintique Series 62 (4.25”backspace) powdercoated. I went one shade in on the white – they look good but if I could do it over I would’ve used the brighter white. |

Re: Hubcap Decision on Steelies
The choice is obvious to me. Stainless with blue bowties. If your bumper were white I'd pick white paint with blue.

Re: Hubcap Decision on Steelies
I need to get steelies for my truck, I agree with the above, stainless with bowties. Your truck looks great.

Re: Hubcap Decision on Steelies
They all look great no matter what. That's why I own many different styles.

Re: Hubcap Decision on Steelies
First off, excellent choice of wheels! As for the caps, definitely the stainles with blue bowties.

Re: Hubcap Decision on Steelies
I agree. I have five 6" steelies that I'm going to powdercoat black - those I think will get the square body flats - or none at all.

Nice truck, and a huge improvement with the white wheels and caps. It sits good too. Stainless with blue is the only way to go. Looks perfect!!

Re: Hubcap Decision on Steelies
I think it's unanimous... As for tires - you mentioned 2550/70/15 as another option. They are a good option, fills out the wheelwell similarly, but just a skinnier look (compared to 275/60s). All depends on the look you prefer - but both are good. But your steelies are a good bit wider than stock c10, so you'd want to make sure the 255s look ok - I think they'd look and fit just fine on there. Good choice, amazing what a small change such as wheels and tires can do to complete the look of a truck. Unfortunately, they can, by themselves, ruin the look of a truck also :). I think your truck was awesome before, now it's awesomer. FWIW, I never would have noticed the wheels were a shade off of white if you hadn't mentioned it. Glad you went with blackwalls as well. Enjoy!

Re: Hubcap Decision on Steelies
I say change them out depending on the day of the week. Or maybe the time of year. White for winter, blue for spring, yellow for summer. Seriously though I agree with most above that the blue bowtie looks best.

Re: Hubcap Decision on Steelies
No winter driving for this truck. HAHA. Id like to find 3 more white/blue to swap out. I haven't mounted any yet, I like the no cap look as well. Hate to push them babies on fresh paint!!

Stainless & blue! Great looking truck.

Re: Hubcap Decision on Steelies
Aluminum wheels will be posted in parts later on in the week if anyone is interested. 8" wide with 3.5" backspace. Chevrolet spinner caps.

Re: Hubcap Decision on Steelies
Since your truck is a super, I think the stainless are the right choice. Any chance you want to part with the blue painted caps? I need 2 or 3 nice caps for my C10- thanks

No caps at all looks good too

Re: Hubcap Decision on Steelies
It's a Cheyenne Super, do it right with what goes on them. Beefy stock is just too hip

Re: Hubcap Decision on Steelies
Stainless with Blue bowties is the look. That's what I'm going to do with my truck, I FINALLY found a nice set of caps, now I just need to get tires.
I hate to part with my slotted dish mags, but 16.5 tires are getting harder to find, and more expensive. And I like doing burn out's too much, so I need tires that cost less. Smoking is expensive. :burnout: |
