Honey Dripper 1976 C10 build

I have been following this page for years and have enjoyed following member builds and decided it was time to post one of my current builds.
First off I purchased a 1978 Chevy SWB C10 from a local dealer in town when I was in high school (around 1999), it was a factory big block black with red interior and was still wearing its original paint. I drove it for a while and decided I wanted something different and sold it, I shouldn't have! That was a long time ago and over the years I told myself I would buy another one day. I was headed into town one day and saw this truck at a friends business for sale, I called him and we made a deal on it in July of 2015. It is a 1976 Chevrolet C10 SWB and he purchased it from a fellow member on this forum. First thing I did when I purchased it was order wheels, tires, brakes and all new suspension. It has been a work in progress since. November 11, 2016 I pulled the motor and trans for a severe under hood makeover and LS swap and I m getting close to finishing it.

Current state of the truck. I am running Modern Vintage Systems wiring harness for the 5.3 and 4L80E. Trick turbo log manifold and TBSS manifold on drivers side, Dirty dingo engine mounts and Dirty Dingo low mount A/C bracket with a mini sanden, Aeromotive Phantom 450 flex fuel pump in the tank a 255lph on the frame that will come on at 7 psi with -8an feed and return lines. Holley EFI fuel rails, Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, turbosmart wastegate and BOV, Champion radiator with custom brackets to move it back so I could mount the vintage air A/C condenser behind the intercooler. I relocated the battery under the truck using a drop down battery box also.
I am currently getting everything wired and plumbed and then I will bolt the front clip back together and fire it up! I cannot wait!

Thank You! I don't think I will be bringing anything to LST, I went last year with a friend and it took us two hours to get in the gate. I will be at C10s in the park again this year, that is a great show!

Thank You! Are you planning to attend the car show in Bellville on March 11th? If so I plan to have it there.

Thank you! The manifold fits great with a little work. I had to massage the top of the engine stand on the right side a little, about a 1" of it. The engine stand has two raised bumps in it and the one closest to the firewall needed to be flattened out, I heated it with the torch and hammered it down just until it was as flat as the engine stand. I am running Dirty Dingo 73-87 motor mounts and I added some 3/8" plate in between the engine and the dirty dingo mount to allow added clearance for the manifold from the frame rail. Also the dirty dingo mounts are slotted and the motor is pushed over to the left side as far as the slots would allow.

Made some headway this weekend, I am really close to starting it. I need to finish the charge pipe fab, fuel lines, vacuum lines, install my boost and air fuel gauge and fill it up with transmission fluid. I'm getting anxious!

Do you happen to remember the specs on your turbo? and what trans are you running??

looking to 4.8LS swap my c10 after added bags and a dually rear end, definitely going to be following your build closely.

The turbo has a 76mm compressor wheel and .96 ar exhaust housing
Transmission is a built 4L80E

Just park over in the spectator group. That's what I do (for the same reason).... It still takes an hour just to reach the spectators lot though but saves you big-time on the exiting delays

It's ALIVE!!! I worked my butt off Friday and Saturday getting the charge piping, vacuum lines and fuel system finished up. My buddy came by at 3:00pm Saturday and flashed the ECM and it started right up! I'm super excited and ready to take it for a spin!
