My wife's new S10 project--old school

3 Attachment(s)
This truck actually belonged to a friend of ours back in high school. He did all the work to it and has owned it for 16 years. It was a show truck and mostly just sat in the garage. I guess he just got tired of it and started parting it out. My wife wanted it so she bought it. The 350 is just about ready to drop in. The ground effects are molded into the body, the cab spoiler and bumper cover are too. It's got that old school mini look to it. Let us know what you think.

The body work looks good, especially for the age, the only thing I don't care for on the truck is the plastic behind the cab and the grill. But, it is oldschool. How's the rest of the truck??, ie the interior, and all that jazz?? Nice ride!!

Paint it a solid color!! The cowl hood is huge!! Install a ram air box! www.ramairbox.com

The interior has teal carpet, the rest is black. It had racing seats in it with 5 point harnesses. She wants a bench seat back in it. A 500+ horsepower 406 smallblock used to reside under the huge hood. He sold the motor and trans for $5000.

Not to shabby... what are your plans for it?

Plan right now is to put in a decent bench seat, a B&M Starshifter, and a posi, and let her hit the street. She'll daily driver it, and hopefully I can talk her into going to the local shows with me and my smallblock powered S10 Blazer. Future plans include a rollercam 383 and some nice wheels.

I totally agree with Dying2Live. I'm having flashbacks from 1989. TOTALLY GNARLY MAN!

I think it needs about 5" off the altitude.

I had to check my calender to make sure it wasn't 1993 when I saw these pics...

Solid truck though.

I agree lower it and get a solid color on it and you will have a even sweeter ride!

It's a good looking little truck... I personally am not crazy about the aftermarket grilles, or the 'cab extender' look.
I personally like the paint job...gives it some personality ;)

We picked up some older 17" Centerline wheels for it the other day. It keeps raining every weekend so the V8 is still not in it. I'll try to haul it up to work and put it in this weekend.

Got the motor and trans set in this weekend. We fought the long tube headers for several hours. Just need a swp setup, and a driveshaft now to get it going mechanically.

Those wheels will look killer on the S truck. That truck was the Sh*t back in the late 80's.

You are spot on with those billet wheels. That's gonna be a really good example of a early 90's show vehicle. I remember seeing lots of vehicles like this back in the day when going to car shows with my dad.

Only thing I'd do is maybe get a stock grill for it.

WOW! Been a while since I've updated anything. Truck's been done for a couple years and seen several local shows. I hope to make it out to a few larger shows next year. Ended up fixing all the bad spots in the body/paint, fresh clearcoat, new weatherstripping, building a custom seat, etc. Kept the original paint scheme cause it was the right thing to do.
