Just about done! 65 for wife

Well it's been two years almost to the day and I am just about done with the truck. It has an LQ4 6.0 with a built 4L60E. PS, PB, Electric windows, power door locks, remote start, navigation, keyless entry, A/C, cruise, tilt, basically everything this truck was never intended to have but hey, nothings too good for my better half.

She told me one day she needed a farm truck to run to the feed store and get her chicken food and such. Well i found a 'fair' shall we say, 65 from a guy in Texas who didn't represent the truck truthfully but another story. After tearing into what I thought would be a couple months fixing here and there, it turned into two full years of full resto.

You know the deal, when you get something apart and look at it for a while, you figure....I'm this far, I may as well....and that's how it went every time I took something off. What can I say, I'm a gluten for pain and a thin wallet.

Comments and opinions welcomed.

Good job! I hope you've already talked her out of using it to haul chicken feed.

Well she is now asking for another work truck. I told her to find something in the mid 90's, that way I wouldn't be compelled to do something to it.

Hopefully it will be a Nissan or something....this way I would be certain not to mess with it.

Can't imagine what you would have built if she had asked for a truck to go to church on Sundays! lol

Here are some images of the console. I made it out of .75" mdf and covered it in leather for the top half. The bottom half is separate pieces and covered in red carpet. The wood is black walnut off the property where I live and we planed it, steamed it and bent it ourselves.

I only have a few of the engine once it was built and once in. none of the actual build process. Its all stock though. Initially she said no cam or 'hopping' it up allowed. We went to the Goodguys show in 2017 and she heard various trucks roll by with their melodic tones and she said 'I guess its okay if you make it sound like that'......Of course I already had it sitting in the truck and had no intention of yanking it out or apart again. You know what they say, Happy wife, frustrated husband or something like that.
