Where does the speedometer cable connect to the trans?
In my 74 the speedometer cable isn't turning. I suspect it is not connected as it just had its flywheel changed and they could have removed it (I guess). Where does it connect?

What transmission?
Automatic or manual will find it on the tailshaft. |
Re: Where does the speedometer cable connect to the trans?
Location varies somewhat depending on type of transmission. Usually on the driver's side. Also possible it was disconnected at the joint between the short cable off the transmission and the one that enters the cab.
There is very little chance of finding the wrong place to screw it back on to. Get under and look for the hanging cable end. It will pretty much tell you where it wants to go. |

you might be missing this little guy . lots of them fall off if the cable is removed and you dont know to look for it . he slides over the square of the cable to make the round with slot tab conversion so they play together .
