Radiator mount hardware gmc??

1 Attachment(s)
Hey there I finally got my radiator for my 1957 gmc truck and I ordered one radiator mount kit and it just came with rubber pads. Was told theres like a u bolt and springs kinda deal is this absolutely necessary? I'm assuming it's for flex but is the rubber pads enough? Can only find the crazy kit for earlier year trucks. Just wondering if I can just use bolts and the pads and go. Just unsure since I feel like all the front sheetmetal connects to the radiator and whatnot. But the chevy mounts straight to the side rails without these weird springs and things I think.

Yes, the springs are to allow for the frame to flex in relation to the body to help prevent the sheet metal from cracking. I'm not sure if it's absolutely necessary or not. You could use ordinary bolts with some generic springs instead of U-bolts.
