This is not mine. It's a truck I know about and am interested in not yet for sale. I wanted to put this one out to get what others think on value. The truck's original owner in CA ordered it to fit the utility body & Alaskan on. This has been a dedicated camping rig it's whole life. It has been camped in this season. The current owner is at a point in life where he is reducing his collection.

It has a 350/4spd w/No-Spin and A/C. It has been repainted original paint not too many years ago and is in excellent shape. It's kind of a unique thing. I'd sure like to have it. What would you pay for this truck?

I have no clue but its a cool ride. I would think the price would not be higher when compared to trucks in equal condition as this is a specialty type truck.

Has it been in CA it's whole life? How's the interior of the camper? Frame/undercarriage shots always help too. The market is in a weird spot right now with prices coming down mostly but then still some high prices on rare/desirable trucks. I'd say $6-8K from the pics. Will cost another $2-3K to get it shipped from CA. Would be a fun fly in and drive home though for sure.

Thanks for taking a stab at it. I know you look at a variety of stuff. The truck went to NM from CA when bought and is now in southern AZ. The owner is a classic car & truck guy who is reducing his stash due to age. it's a true SW truck with no rust, repainted factory color in recent years. Everything works and it's in use. I only have that one camper interior picture. Looks to be in very good condition. I guess it never was too fancy.

I've been looking at various Alaskan campers over the years, they are pretty neat. There are some youtube videos out there of people who have modified them to raise the roof hydraulically, etc.

I think that is a really cool rig. This sort of thing is kind of regional, but I would expect to see something like that listed at $10K where I live: and I think it would sell at that price in a reasonable hurry.

Thanks for that. I can see people spending $10k for a cool go camping unit ready to go.

Congratulations. You are all set for a great future of good times. You won't be lonely at the campgrounds.

I would want to pay that, too! I am terrible with truck values anymore. These aren't "my" prices. The term "what it's worth" needs to change to "what will it sell for". IMO nothing out there is worth what things are selling for. The reality I have known well for many years is no longer

All that said, I see the truck being worth the price on today's sliding scale. I see it worth more than many being virtually and unmolested survivor. It still has the value of use it had when new. Go camping!

I thank you very much Mr-K for the congratulations.
I would have liked to pay less but, I feel very fortunate just to have the chance to purchase this particular truck. I have been chasing one like this for fifteen years. The ones I did find were sold as I waited in line to make the purchase.
Money comes and goes but the truck will still be here.
I plan on getting the interior, badges/emblems and anything else back to original. I thought about converting to front disc brakes but I am having second thoughts on that one as it it is not original to the truck. The po just made a road trip to the high mountains over 9000 ft and the brakes performed with no issues. So disk is a big ???????
Any thoughts on the swap i would be very grateful.
I also plan on using the truck and camper for what it was built for. Will not be a garage queen but will be very well cared for and not abused or changed. Well, a tack will go in.
I am looking forward to the fly in and drive out road trip. 1600 miles from Tucson to Rochester mn. I wish I had the funds and time to go parts shopping in the desert. That would be fun.

The interior of the truck is 623 gold custom cloth trim, on the spid. I will be on the hunt for these parts including dash pad, door panels and seat cover, maybe more I won't know until I pick the truck up. Just a heads-up in case anyone reading this could help me out.

Yeah the WIW thread is somewhat useless. I see items on there with 1000 or more viewers with one or two replies. I believe everyone has some kind of number in there head but don't post it for some reason. I think it should be changed to--what would you pay--- as with anything it's only worth what you can gat for it. Just my opinion.

No need to shop for clean desert sheet metal for this one. When you know what you want, you pay for it when you find it. There is no blue book. It should be a great trip back home in your new '70 GMC
