Re: New Double Hump Heads
Engine Masters has an episode specifically on this topic. Dyno numbers don't lie. The only hint I'll offer is "horsepower costs money."

Re: New Double Hump Heads
When I put my '70 LT-1 clone together these were not yet available.
I wasn't actually concerned about date code matching, I just wanted functional compatibility so a graybeard would hear the rumble and mechanical valve clatter and be taken back to the old times. And I wanted "the look." It was hard to find good vintage cores, but my machinist came through with good cores and did some excellent work. I'm very happy with the results. However, if these were available I would have probably gone with them and saved a few bucks. If I do another classic motor I'd probably go with these. But the LS motors are so tempting. |
