Sat for 20 years in a field - Original '70 Blazer
5 Attachment(s)
I have beem looking for the right Blazer for years. By right, I mean affordable and very little rust. Those two don't typically go together but I managed to snag this original paint truck a few weeks ago.
Very clean, very smelly, missing engine and back seat. It also has a 73+ low back seat in for the driver side I think since the brackets don't reach the factory mounting points and appear taller at the front. Originally an automatic and was converted to a manual a long time ago. Not sure what the plan is but I am just happy to have it. |

What a solid beginning! Looks to be original paint. That is an extremely early build 1970.

I've owned suburbans & pickups, never had a blazer. Someone straighten out my confusion, why does it mention the top twice on the spid? Removable top & auxiliary top

What a great find. Was that here in the Midwest or elsewhere? Neat SPID, still dialing in RPO details I suspect.

I have the original registration for it and it looks like it was from South Dakota when it was first purchased. I’ve got some additional pictures I’ll post sometime soon. |

Here are some additional pictures. Started cleaning the inside up. Blazer was originally registered in South Dakota 3/70.

You sure lucked out on this one. Most, like myself, start with heavily rotted Blazers that require tons of metal work and man hours to get the bodies right again.

Unbelievable how good of shape that truck is for sitting so long. Love it!

I noticed tailgate letters were painted.., I'm still trying to find out what was determining factor for those that got the painted letters vs. those that did not. My 72 in medium olive with original paint does not have the painted tailgate letters.
