That's for sure. When I got my truck there were three yards close by that had many in them. Now they are mostly gone and anything left is picked clean.

More like what did I try to do.

I have aftermarket wheels on my truck but I have original wheels, hub caps and lug nuts. I needed new tires so I thought in the spirit of originality I would put new tires on old wheels. I have a friend that works for a tire shop so I called and ordered 5 tires

Brought wheels to shop and dropped them off. An hour later I get a call that they are split rims and no one in the area would touch them.

Oh well, took the aftermarket wheels off and had them mounted. I will start looking for a local shop that will do them.

For now, after fixing brakes and carb, I just want to drive it

Finished removing all the old brake lines and pulled the front shocks. Stopped after that because it’s gotten summertime hot here. 98 yesterday and 95 today. My fans just were not cutting it.

bill3rail,
Hmm, let's see: Pickle fork, air hammer, WD40, and a BFH. Looks like front end work to me! Great work.

Gonna send you a PM with some questions if you don't mind.

I have spent the last few weekends on my bed, but happy to say the bed is now back on the frame. I have a 3.5/5 drop, and I am hopeful adding my rear tank and cab/motor will help the rear end drop down quite a bit more.

With many thanks to member RodnRudy, I have the correct water pump studs for my new fan and fan clutch set-up. Took a little cruise to deliver a dresser and it just felt so good to be cruising with it again.

I brought it home today after sitting in storage for almost 15 years. It's been off the road since 92. Surprisingly decent condition. Already ordered my rocker panels and cab corners as well as a new tailgate and front bed panel as this was the worst condition parts. Rockers I might not need as they look decent but it was while I had the chance and its thru my work anyway. Will be a fun project that will take much of my time and more of my money lol. Currently furloughed from work so I have time to play and get the cab right. Have to get the windshield out and see how bad it is overall it has a hole just below drip rail on the drivers side.

I’m working on my 1971 Cheyenne SWB. Truck was from Oklahoma then Alburquerque NM. Truck has all 4 original cab supports. This is what came out of the front cab supports. I’m guessing yellow jacket/bee nests? Truck has simulated wood trim on the doors, glove box and instrument cluster so maybe termites?

Yep, my truck is at least 50 lbs lighter with all those I have scraped or power washed off. One more good washing and about 10 lbs more grease, dirt, and dauber nests and I might have most of it clean.

crying_joker - Cool! Another stepper on the way to saving.

Thanks 67c10stepper growing up I liked the fleet side better but the more I've looked at them the better the stepside looks. I want to keep this basic over some of my previous vehicle builds. I want to simply do a reliable go anywhere when I cant or dont want to take my motorcycle.

Threw some rusty parts in a plastic bucket. Thinking I am on to something very new and interesting, I am going to find more rusty parts and throw them to REINVINIGORATOR!
