Truck dies when hit gas to hard

All right guys i would value some advice again! My 79 bonanza is driveable now and is my DD to and from school and work, a problem im having is when i get on it to hard (halfway to floor) it sputters and dies and makes me look like an idiot, im running stock exaust out of a 350 with rebuilt tranny any ideas on how to stop the sputtering?? im thinking carb issues.

Welcome to the board. What kind of carb are you running and when did this start? If your running a quadra jet, it's the accelerator pump.

Other causes sticking metering rods , vacuum leak, floats to low , lack of fuel .I agree with Lee H accelerator pump .remove air cleaner rack the linkage and you should see a strong squirt of fuel.

if its a qjet the secondary air valve is set wrong. check the tension on the air flap. with the choke off press down on it if it takes alot of pressure to open then its way to tight if it flops open then its to loose. you want just enough where it will open with little effort but springs back.
