Trying to clear up 15x8 truck rally confusion

Hi guys,

I’m planning on picking up a set of OEM 15x8 6-lug (4.0” BS) truck rally wheels tomorrow. I don’t know which Chevrolet model they originated from but I understand that they made these wheels from 67-87 C10/Blazer. Somewhere in that time the stud size changed from 7/16-20 to 1/2-20. Additionally some of these rallys came from 4wd and some 2wd c10/blazer.

I assume these are all interchangeable and will fit a ‘69 c10 2WD regardless of what c10/blazer they originated from? Would you please help confirm.

I’m trying to avoid buying wheels that won’t fit my truck (wrongly assuming I can run a 1987 4WD Blazer rally wheel on my ‘69 c10, for example). Thank you

Pretty sure the 15” 6 bolt rallies will fit on ur 69 ,even if the 69 has drums

Re: Trying to clear up 15x8 truck rally confusion

Rally wheels were not available I don't think until 1975. 6 bolt anyway. I think all 6 bolt were 4X4. They will fit on trucks all the way back to at least 1960. Off set is different but lots of pre 71 2WD trucks run them.

Squarebody 6-lug 4x4 rallies thru 87, like the ones you have pictured in post #1, will fit 67-70 C10 and 67-72 K10.

A 1969 C10 has 6 lugs, not the 5x5.

The 6-lug 4wd Squarebody 8" truck rallyes were used through '91 on V-model Blazer/Jimmy/Suburban and they will fit an earlier 6-lug GM Truck going as far back as that boult pattern goes. I have run them on 60-70 trucks myself. Just bolt them on and roll down the road.

Nice to know. They are known simply as car rallyes. But yes, they are now made by the aftermarket in both 5 and 6 lug truck patterns

Those were tempting (several manufacturers offer then in both 5/6 lug and 15x8/10).

I almost pulled the trigger but these oem truck rallys came on the market locally. Since they were clean I picked them up. I think they’ll look great.

Those look like Vision rallys that Summit sells. Great price… but rings and caps are another $250 that you have to consider.

Still a good deal with free shipping.

You can see these later model rally wheels on my 72 K10 in the first post of my build thread. Missing some parts, but many are. Not going back on the truck as evidence in the thread shows. Sit pretty far in on the back of my K10 due to the back spacing.

Those GM Ralleys were a Squarebody 4x4 item through '87. They will work on earlier 6-lug 2wd trucks too.

Pre-71, C10's had 7/16 studs. Once disc brakes came along, it was 1/2" studs.
They will work on either size of studs w/the correct lug nut.

Yep. But that nugget usually confuses those that aren't in the know.

It was confusing back then, too.

Especially problematic for guys like me since I have an '89 CC dually as well as a '99 CC SWB 2500. 'Ya gotta' know or you'll be wasting time & energy.
