Re: my 87 chevy project
Ken you can buy that type of lift from local lift companies or tool manufacturers sell them. My uncle has a Snap ON version in his body shop.

Re: my 87 chevy project
Man that's some serious sludge you have there. Nice looking truck though. Looks like its time for a new engine.

Re: my 87 chevy project
Check your PCV valve and the little breather tube that goes from the air cleaner to the other valve cover. That little tube, especially, is prone to getting completely sludged up tight. I think you will find that the PCV system hasn't been working for a long time in that truck.

Re: my 87 chevy project
I've never seen the frame brake on a 2x4 truck. I thought that only happened on 4x4s that have been driven hard with big tires. Off Road Design has repair kits and reinforcement brackets for that.

Re: my 87 chevy project
but for me it cost me 2 cents lol |
Re: my 87 chevy project
Damien..Thats a common problem with these trucks. I had to get my truck done up a little over a year ago because i noticed a little crack. Turns out the whole section where the power steering hooks to the frame was about to fall out. I got mine done at a place called AUTOFAB that makes the brackets for this problem. The owner actually used my truck as an example and put it on his website.

here's a pic of the front of the frame...like I said it can be straightened back out easy...you could also just cut off of it what you need...the rear of the frame behind the spring perches is perfectly straight...
|
Re: my 87 chevy project
also, did you shave the cab seam above the rear window...
|
Re: my 87 chevy project
yes i did shave that
|
Re: my 87 chevy project
