How is this achieved? sweet!..I want!

does this still function with the headlights on?

^^^ That is indeed very nice. I've always thought the stock blinkers break up the smooth lines of the 67-68's. This makes it very feng shui.

I got these
http://www.chevsofthe40s.com/detail/...GHTS_TURN.html

you have to do a little modification to the core support to get them to fit in there. The blinkers are wired just like the stock blinkers. Although you need an LED flasher.

For the grill you just need an extra upper insert and rivet it into the lower opening.

One of my mods is a wood bed I made myself. The wood is poplar. I cut the boards to size (specs from GMC Pauls website), ran them thru a planer, cut the grooves for the strips with a table saw, put three coats of spar polyurethane on both sides, bought the unfinished strips form Mar K and painted them with 2 coats of Blue and one coat clear. I attached them over a one piece welded in steel bed. I first coated the bed with POR15 and then mounted the boards over closed cell pipe insulation (boards are on top of foam insulation so they have air under them). I drilled holes through the steel bed and used stainless steel bolts and self tighening nuts to secure it to the steel plate. It was alot of work but I'm happy with the results.

I love the floor...well done...but what really caught my eye is the bedsides...is there a story on those?

This is the coolest mod I think I have ever seen. I agree with the comment that the bumper lights break up the smooth look of the Chevy bumper, I think this is one reason why I prefer GMC's. Very very cool. Did you also do the headlight relay upgrade mod at the same time? That is our next one to do, we bought the relays yesterday and have the installation details from this forum.

Headlight relays,
10 guage hot wire 2 5 prong bosch relays big ground wire connectors
1 Read the article
2 Parts list 2 Bosch relays, spade connecters, wire, and inline fuse.
3 Look at wiring sheet
4 Decide that you can do this
5 Start by finding the 14LG and the 18LT wire on the back of the left headlamp.
6 Disconnect the (- Neg) battery cable. Mount the relays to the core support above the horn. You may have to make room for them.
7 Follow the 14LG wire towards the fuse block. Mark it. This is the one to cut.
8 Follow the 18LT wire towards the fuse block. Mark it 1st. Cut this one also.
9 Do the wiring:
cut 18LT (or low beam) and run the wire from the fuse block to Terminal 86 on the relay.
run the other end and that comes from the headlamp plug to Terminal 87 on the relay.
cut 14LG (or hi beam) and run the wire from the fuse block to the Terminal 86 on the 2nd relay. run the other end to Terminal 87 of the 2nd relay.
10 Terminal 85 goes to ground.
11 Run a heavy wire (12ga.) from + Battery Post to Terminal 30 of both relays. Just run it through the stock wiring across the radiator. Add a inline fuse on this one.
12 make sure every thing is connected, secure wires, replace (- battery cable )
13 Enjoy Brighter Head Lights

I can't understand why no one has commented on this. I think those panels looks awesome. Now tell us what you used to make the flared holes. I am guessing that you have a die set but I am hoping you've come up with a simple tool we can all make for ~$10  Seriously nice work though.

I didn't want a stereo in the dash or in my glovebox so I got a Bluetooth reciever and I just use my iPhone as my radio or pandora, the thing I like the most is that it's all wireless and don't have a cord attached to my phone

Did you run into any clearance problems with hitting the transmission then you installed it? I think I'm gonna have to borrow this idea
