I was parting out a 71 once and a guy came and noticed a number of Hickey parts. I won't say he was drooling over a roof rack but I will say he had some moisture in the mouth.

The rack was of little value to me but for him it was like gold.

The top had been butchered with a sunroof.

I removed the side windows and the roof rack with a circular skill saw.

Not exactly Marcell Ledbetter but the parts hunt struck up a ten year friendship.

Off topic, but HICKEY parts always makes me think of that day.

Everything is either sold or has a deposit on it. Only suspension/skid plate stuff left but the guy is not parting that at the moment. He said he will want $3000 for the entire suspension/skid plate package.

Its really too bad that this truck is being parted out.

How hard is is to find the swing away tire carrier w/ jerry can? What kinda money does something like that run these days?

I have a near nos one pictured (poorly) above. It is complete and either repainted or exceptional original paint. I also have 2 con-ferr jerry can holders which can be used to attach to carrier. I’d sell mine for $500. Can holder $50. There are two incomplete ones on eBay for $300?

I was lucky enough to get the spotlight (not Hickey) and the complete Hickey Spare Tire carrier w/ hardware off this truck. I wanted the roof rack but someone beat me to that - if any of you find a Hickey roof rack you are for whatever reason passing on, I want it! Also want a sidewinder winch and 69-72 correct mounting bracketry if any of you run across one and end up passing on it

Buyer beware when dealing with Oscar Mirabal. We agreed on a price plus freight and he sold it out from underneath me. This after I helped him on his build. Not a honorable guy. This is nothing against GMCNUT i hope he treated you fairly. Just a warning for future people dealing with him.

The transfer case skid plates posted above by Tristan and Sandtrap do not match - one of the two must not be right or there were two designs or something - love to know which one is right before I buy one

You can buy a new reproduction of the front cover on ebay from Eric. The 12 bolt covers are much harder to find.
