Loud clanking noises from the tailgate hinges on my 1968 Chevy C10.
When I am riding down any street and hit even the smallest bumps I can hear the tailgate hinges on my 1968 Chevy C10 shortbed fleetside moving around making clanking and rattling noises and this is with the tailgate closed.
When I park my truck with the tailgate closed I can stick a thin screwdriver or other long tool in between the bed and tailgate and I can move those hinges around and make the same clanking and rattling noises. How can I prevent those hinges from clanking and rattling so much when driving around? Am I missing some sort of rubber bumpers or other anti rattling part that should be on the truck but are missing? |

It seems those rectangular bump stops will help control some of the side movement but I am not sure if it help stop some of the back and forth movement if there is any? I wonder what those round bumpers actually help stop? |
