does anyone know of a website like this for

ok, before ya'll administer the beating hear me out. this website has been an invaluable source of information and camaraderie for me. all you guy's AND gal's have been very helpful and friendly.
my dilemma now is that one of my inlaws has inherited a pair of '57 ford thunderbirds. these cars are complete and original except for the gas tanks. for some odd reason the deceased's wife decided to have them removed and hauled off a couple of years ago. the word is that the ol guy started them every few months. not sure about all that but thats the rumor. these cars have been sitting in the shop forever, literally. one in 1968 the other since 1970.
now fast forward 40 years........ this guy is my wifes uncle, been to the house a few times and knows that i build trucks, hotrods and harleys. he wants me to get these cars driveable to take to shows and such. he has no intention of selling them, just wants to cruise them and be the proud owner of a matched pair of '57 birds.
HELP, I know little about 57 birds except they are worth a fortune. so if any of you know of a website like this one let me know.......Thanks.......Fast75

We actually have a new forum here that may be for something like that. I know there are a lot of knowlegable peeps here.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/f...play.php?f=140

On the other hand there is a huge Ford forum with about 70,000 plus members that may work for them.

I`m sure once you get into some Ford message boards there will plenty who could steer you in that direction.Maybe talk to some T-bird specialists and see if they can suggest any.If you look in Hemmings Motor News I`m sure you`ll come across something.I found this board indirectly from there.I started noticing alot of listings or old trucks had a website and started looking at those.Through links I found this place.

good luck finding a "friendly" one, they are few and far between. I know of several ford sites, but not a tbird one offhand. I will ask a few other site owner folks if they know of any for ya.

no Liz, PLEASE not the admin posse!!! they'll have me drawn and quartered before the sun sets........ well ya'll, they arrived yesterday. sweet jesus, what have i gotten myself into? these things are sweet. you wouldnt believe the stuff i found in the gold one. a sept 1970 issue of hotrod mag, an old semi porn mag called True Danger, not sure what year but the price was .50 cents, a menu from Pancho's featuring a 96 cent lunch special, a bottle of Jergens hand lotion thats still liquid and in a glass bottle, a dallas map that DOESN'T have 635 on it, just all kinds of old stuff. it is a literal time capsule. the trunk is FULL of stuff. waiting for the keys so i can go thru it. i havent even looked in the white one yet. we hauled it to a storage unit because of limited space in my shop.

Liz, you're too late. :mrt: has been summoned. I'll see if he can be distracted :barn:.

As for the gas tanks, I would bet one of them was leaking. Especially if someone left gas in them so they could be started every so often.
