Just scored an ‘88 Suburban 4x4 to lift!
I have a buddy that is big into the car auctions, which I typically stay away from due to the fact that if the cars were desirable, the owners would have probably gotten them back. He sent me this Suburban while I was at work, and since I was at work, I couldn’t really do anything about it. The auction ended with no bids, so he told me I can call in and they’ll have a non-sell price. Turns out that price was $75, and the last thing I need is another project and rig in the driveway, so I’m now a proud owner of a Suburban!
It’s a 1/2 ton 4x4, TBI 350, 700r4, and supposedly has no electrical power when a battery is connected. I’m betting on a fusible link or small wiring issue. Since I just got my ‘78 LS swap running, I don’t really need another 3/4 ton truck, so I may do something different with the ‘86/‘87 project I have going on, and use the 3/4 ton axles and wheels from the ‘86 chassis under the suburban. Right now, I’m thinking about doing a 6” ORD spring lift and either 35x12.5x17 or 37x13.5x17 Super Swamper Boggers. I might also use the Stage 3 700r4 and fresh NP208 as well to ensure this one is in prime shape, and use this trans/t-case in a stock truck. It won’t actually be delivered until this upcoming Tuesday, so I won’t get to really look it over until the following weekend, but here’s the pictures I have for now! https://i.postimg.cc/J7FGwRST/2695-A...E3-FA0-ABF.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/28B3rPDC/1-A3-C...8-D8-B34-E.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/HkDnxBYX/F42124...94-A2-C703.jpg |

Wow! $75? Can't beat that. Can't wait to see what you find was keeping it from getting power.
