CKTruck Magazine Feature on my '68

CK Truck magazine did a feature on my '68 C10 in their February issue. They recently uploaded a digital version here and I wanted to share:
https://cktruckmag.com/2021/05/12/pole-position/

Pay particular attention to the interior. That's some of Grumpy Old Man's work and he did a great job for me.

There's no shortage of cool trucks out there, so I was pretty happy that they thought mine was cool enough to put into print.

If you haven't heard of them before, check them out. They've only been at it about a year. They're nice folks and put out a quality publication.

I have that mag. We were at Battle in Bama and I'm pretty sure I took pics of your truck.

Very nice truck congrats on the win .

Was that a 90s g20 van you used the speedo from ?

How about a
Picture of your cluster

I have a 95 g20 van I keep looking at the speedo as I have not found the right s10 cluster to convert it over

That color is perfect. Very classy with a touch of evil. Is it a factory color? Anniversary gold?

That's great. Great story on how you found it too.

Thanks to everyone for all the compliments and kind words!

Myself, that is indeed my truck. We had a blast at Battle in Bama on C10 Row. It's one of my favorite shows of the year.

gmc684x4, The speedometer is from a 94 S10 without a tach. It's a one year only cluster in that it's an 85 MPH speedo. I use those in much the same way that ls1nova does his conversions with the later 100 MPH S10 speedometers. I looked through my phone, but I don't have a pic of the gauge cluster. I'll get you one tomorrow.

Big Kev-O, The color is a factory GM color from the early 2000s called Cashmere.

That's some crazy nice work!
I am still attempting to figure out how you hid the air-conditioning hoses.
First class.

That’s a tough picture to get due to the reflections. But here’s the best I could come up with.

Thanks! I went through the kick panel vent on the passenger side. To keep the heater hose from linking, I wrapped them in wire coils and used some adhesive lined heat shrink to hold the bends.

It works out very close to the 100 MPH on the factory c10 faceplate. I've used them on about a half dozen c10s over the years.

Re: CKTruck Magazine Feature on my '68

1000 cable rpm is 60mph. The de-facto standard. So If you can hook it up it should work. Glad it continued to work past 85, looks great.

Thank you i have been looking for the newer one when the one I have will work without painting the face plate going to pull the s10 speedo in the am and take it apart
build will be 5.3 with 4l80e into a 68 gmc

Great looking truck.
We've had a few cars shot for features in Car Craft and Chevy High Performance magazines.
We call it "getting the nod" from the magazine staff. I don't know it worked out for you but the photo shoot for our cars had to be later in the day with the sun pretty low because the cars/trucks are so shiny it creates bright spots in the photos.
I like to take the pics and have them framed for some garage art.
Again great truck.
