Trip meter
 

My trip odometer has decided to quit on my 99 ccsb. Its gets to 9.9 miles and stops any easy fixes? Or will it require a cluster change http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...trucks0155.jpg

I don't know if the 1999 is different from the 1988 to 1998 trucks. Post this in the 1999 and newer forum... :)

No, this truck is in the right forum since its the OBS 99. However, the cluster is close to the same that they might have some insight.

I haven't had a 95+ style instrument cluster apart, I can't voice any experience on that part. I am not sure what is digital or mechanical in that style cluster..

I was driving one day and heard a clicking sound. I finally figured out that it was my trip odometer. I had reset it a few miles earlier. I reset it as I was driving, making sure that the stem was all the way out. It cured the clicking, which essentially was keeping it from turning over to 10.0 miles in my case, too.

I don't know if that is your problem or not. But, make sure the stem is all the way out when you push it to reset it. It worked for me.

The trip and odometer are both mechanical instead of digital like on the newer trucks.

Does the odometer and speedo work properly? If so, check to make sure the reset button isn't hung up (I had a similar issue to ChevLoRay in my 91 GMC Sonoma). If that doesn't help, and no one else here can help, I would recommend contacting a repair facility and see what you can get from them. I recently did a search for "Instrument Cluster Repair" on Google (looking to have the cluster repaired in my sisters car) and I came up with about 10 shops nationwide that offered 1 to 2 year warranties on repairs. None listed prices for anything except common cluster repairs.
