Power Steering Sector Questions and Information
5 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone,
I recently picked up a power steering sector for my 66 c10 2wd Attached are the pics of the unit and numbers on the unit. Does anyone have any idea what these numbers mean and what this is off of. Would like to rebuild before I install it but need some info Thanks John |
Re: Power Steering Sector Questions and Information
The casting number is 7802644 tells you what you need to know.

Re: Power Steering Sector Questions and Information
Checking the info on the box I used:
Casting 7802644 It's a 3/4" x 30 spline. My unit is a 1976 and newer steering gears and has 3-1/2 turns lock to lock. However they have a smaller input shaft, Input shaft seal P/N 28401454 (smaller) Used Edelmann 7857 Power Steering Gear Rebuild Kit – Note: However it needed smaller Input Shaft Seal. SAE inverted flare power steering hoses 11/16-18 Inverted Flare High Pressure 5/8-18 Inverted Flare Low Pressure And Oh by the way, if you dont need it I'd be happy to use it. :) |
