Still in progress, but coming along nicely.

Or does anybody have a similar drop, that can give me an idea of what drop that is?

5/5 ........ 5/7 maybe?

Re: How about some pictures of '73-'87 short beds

Yeah, that would be cool. looking to have it at least on the road for the summer, then back in the shop for more next winter. First trip out will be around the time the "Our Days" parade and car show happen in La Center June I think. By then it should be presentable. Paint and bodywork will be the last thing to do over the next winter.

They are the factory mirrors, like others have said you can find them from LMC truck and others.

It is a 5/6 drop. Drop spindles and springs in the front, and a flip kit in the rear. It was not c-notched at the time, but I have had one time when I smacked the shortened snubbers. I will have a c-notch done before it gets back on the road. With the new found horsepower, gears, blower, etc... it will launch a whole lot harder than before and that will not be good if the suspension won't travel enough. I take some pics of the flip kit in the rear as I put it all back together.

Thanks for the info, sounds like its going to be a beast when it gets done

Just a couple more questions.

I have 15x10 rims all around and the current drop is just cut coils. What setup are you running in the front?
Rim size?
What drops spindle?

Thanks. I'm tired of my truck bottoming out on the slightest imperfection and want to drop the front correctly this time. I also dont want to change rims.

cjracing15, that is a good looking truck! I like the 350 idea for sure and I only have one small suggestion (picky one)...remove or paint the white overspray on your fuel tank. Clean 4x4's from the 80's are hard to find and it appears you have one.

Re: How about some pictures of '73-'87 short beds

Thanks for the praise on my 86. hiway what you see in the pic is the gas tank covers. The old guy I got the truck from painted them white:crazy: . I plan on painting them black after I do The 350 swap.

I have since removed those hideous rear tires, and it looks a million times better. Brought the rear end about 2 1/2" down. Unfortunitely my camera took a dump.

I'll throw some vids in here too. I know its slow but we all start somewhere.

Here's one I have of mine.

Description: After about 10 months of the motor just sitting and about 5 months of being swapped from my 72 Nova into the truck, I was finally able to crank up the motor for the first time today since. After wiring up all of the MSD ignition we poured a little gas in the carb and it fired up like I just ran it moments before. And yes.. I was a little excited.
