WTB 67-8 Steering Wheel

I am looking for a 67-8 steering wheel that is original black. I already have one that I can paint if I can't find one. Also, I would like a chrome "Chevrolet" horn cap for the same with little to no pitting. If you have one that you would like to sell let me know. Thanks!

running on tilt column

Breeh;

Are you going to run this on a tilt column? I am hoping to do this and am still trying to find 1st hand knowledge of it working and fitting well.

Part of "my approved" restifications of these trucks.

cheyenne10, I am going to run it on a tilt. I will let you know how it goes.

another thought/?

Did they make a stock black column in 67/68? I have seen the silver, fawn, tan, gold, blue, green & red ones..... I have one repainted black by board member but for finished truck it may need redone. I always hoped to research prepping and painting one black myself but worry about paint holding up to daily use.

Good luck, I guess I'm not the only one with these good ideas!!

I'm running a 67-68 wheel on my tilt column in my '67 and it fits fine. I still need to paint mine though.

Come to think of it, I don't think that I have seen a black column/wheel before either in a 67-8. Hmmm...

FYI, the 67/68 steering wheel was run in the C/40 & bigger trucks well into the 80's. We have an 86 (I think) at the shop right now with a brand new looking wheel in it.
Just something else to look in when going through the junk yards.

Thanks for the info Andy! I will look in some of those as well.
