OOF!!! Twice the size of mine!!! I’m so jealous.

I like Surprise AZ, my dad & stepmom winter there in Happy Trails. There’s some fun off-roading

16' sweet. When you build the living quarters, build it with about a 2' raised floor. This way it is easier to run plumbing and wiring and your feet will be happier without walking on concrete barefoot. Also there is the whole odors creeping across the floor into the living unit. Water heater can sit on the shop floor. You will still have room for storage on top also. Unless you build a 2 story unit

Thanks for the input, decided not to do a living quarters as part of the shop is for my son-in-law's fabricating business. He's in the process of moving everything now, tons of work. Going to put a mezzanine on the West end for extra storage space. He's really good at what he does.

Yeah I love Surprise and have golfed at Happy Trails. I'm really made more for the country than the metropolis so appreciate a smaller city.

Quick little shop update. Got the two cranes up. Will be able to swing a ton from one to the other and vice versa, also got started on the mezzanine. Hey I just piddle on my truck there. I'll try to get picks of all the concrete I've poured.

Love the mezzanine.

What dimension are those floor joists? I am assuming they are 16' in length. Maybe 2x10 ? or are they metal joists?

What weight capacity is in the design?

Great shop.

They are 16' 2 x 8 14ga C Purlins on 12" centers, the deck is 1" ply ( 1.091 ) screwed down every 12". Weight capacity about 150lbs per sq. foot.

Here's an overhead shot of the property, you can see the vast amount of concrete that was poured, fortunately got it done before prices went out of sight. This property is annexed in Buckeye Az but it's jurisdiction fell to Maricopa County so I had to re-survey the place in order to do a re-plat just so I could access the shop from 191st ave., which was all because of a 1' N.V.A.E. along the East property line. P.I.T.A. but also a great learning experience.

He's doing pretty well although he's more focused on getting the electrical done then putting in the bathroom. The place is a bit chaotic at this time waiting for things to be completed. I'll try to get more pictures inside and out showing the chaos. :waah:

it certainly wasn't cheap Rickysnickers!! I want to say none of this would be possible without my dad and I hope when it's finished he will look down and be proud. While no one is perfect he always tried to help family and inspired me with his selflessness.

Thought I'd post a couple pictures of the 2 ton cranes first lift. That rig it's lifting is 2800lbs, lifted it with touch of a button. :)
