Relays needed after rewiring?
 

I am finishing up a Painless wiring and upgrading to blade fuses, etc.

I think one of these is the horn relay (do I still need this or is it embedded within the new fuse box?

Also I don’t know what the other 2 relays are or if I need them at all….I’m running out of wires to terminate.

The 2nd photo shows the transmission kickdown switch for a T400.

On the others what year is your truck?

Not knowing which painless harness you have we have no idea if it includes a built in horn relay.

And welcome aboard. We would enjoy seeing some more pictures of your truck.

The relay with green wires on your fuse block in photo 1 is almost surely a horn relay.

Thanks for the feedback! Here’s one current state pic. I won’t bore you with all the transition photos but it’s come a really long way, with more to go.

I used the painless #10206 harness system.

I do have the TH400, do I need to route that lockdown switch to something? I don’t remember if it had something when I ripped out all the old wiring. It was in good running condition beforehand though.

Yes, but the transmission will work with out it. Nice to have though.
12V to the switch and the switch to the connection on the side of the THM 400.
I provides 12V to the transmission when the truck is floored.
If you kept the old wiring maybe the wire is still there.
It is a separate wire as in not part of the main harness.

Circt 924 Green wire 14g

Connect HEADLIGHT SECTION A wire #924 (grn) to the Horn's hot terminal.
TURN SIGNAL SECTION wire #953 (blk) was connected in the turn signal
connector section of these instructions. The horn relay is pre-wired into the fuse
panel.

Thank you again for the info. Tracking the horn should be good to go. I did route the #924 and grounded it.

So the kickdown switch above the gas pedal should route to the blade in this pic? Optional but advantageous to use when desired. Thanks for the help

Yes that is exactly correct.
You could easily build your own or you can purchase the harness separately if you like.
Remember to get the one for the 72.
The earlier ones had the switch on the intake manifold not inside the cab like yours.
