Ground on RH-inner fender. 1970 C10

There is a ground on the right inner fender about in the middle, near the frame.
I have a picture of the ground attached to the fender. Wondering exactly where it should be attached to the frame and if its a bolt or self threading screw at the frame. It is a self threading screw with a star washer on the inner fender side of the ground. This is a 1970 C10 Truck.

I am not certain on your 70 model, but my 67 did not have this. My truck is all original as far as I know.

My '71 has one. On it, the wire goes to a threaded bolt and nut on the outside frame rail. Just above the ball joint.

This thread has some good info on grounding straps.

Thanks for the input.
I think I found the location described by Mac71....

As a side note:
I was helping a friend with his 68 Mustang fast back and the car was on a lift. We were chasing electrical gremlins and when he opened the door the starter engaged. The Mustang moved about one foot forward but didn't start.
Chased the issue to grounds that were not replaced during the rebuild. The dome light coming on activated the starter. Weird but still could have been a disaster.
So I always replace the grounds when I find them. Still unsure why GM thought to ground the inner fender but I am going on the premise GM didn't spend $ on grounds if they weren't required.
Thanks again everyone.
Rick

Looks like you already have your answer.

But, on the '71 donor I took apart the right side inner fender well was grounded to the cab mount bracket. It used a self tapping bolt and star washer between the ground wire and body mount.

Thanks
I will inspect the cab mount. May not be definitive on my truck as I replaced the complete floor.

Accelo, the cab mount I am referring to is the one on the frame not the one on the cab. The ground was mounted on the backside of the frame cab mount. If you need a pic I could dig through mine and see if I can find one.

My truck has a ground strap in this location, but it is connected to the cab on the other end. It did not have a ground on the inner fender but I am adding one.

My main ground path is the frame as I relocated the battery. So I work at getting all the grounding wires to connect to the frame. I went so far as to weld bolts to the frame by the battery and motor to make sure I have a good path.

I was at a show in 2019.

I saw a very nice 72.

I took several pictures of the detailed restoration.

Here is 2 cab ground straps (RH/LH) that stood out.

Because the location is difficult to determine from the picture I posted, I took another with an overall view to help clarify.
The white piece of rolled up paper has been inserted into the hole where the ground strap was located.
This is the Right Hand side. I have replaced the inner fenders and there wasn't a hole punched at this location on the aftermarket inner fender.

I have an NOS RH inner, I will try to remember to look tomorrow, it is at work.

NOS inner fender does not have hole or dimple.

My original fender has a hole where I've circled in the image, and there was a hole nearby in the frame, so I installed a ground strap there.

Accelo, here is a pick of where my donor truck had its ground wires. The one ground definitely does not look factory but did go to the right side inner fender. May have been added as there were some relays mounted on the inner fender well.

The top picture has a ground that looks like mine. You also have what looks like a correct bolt with a star washer. I believe I will hook up mine just like yours. It looks stock to me. I will investigate my frame. If I have a threaded hole in the same location I think we have a winner. Thanks again.

Updated
It appears the ground I found was forward of the one shown in the picture.
It matched the thread of the screw I had perfectly. It's the hole I am going to use. the only reason I can think of that GM grounded the inner fender is so It acts as a ground plane for the radio antenna?
