Who sells aftermarket wheels like our originals?

I have a 70 GMC 2500 “Longhorn”. It has 8 lug aftermarket wheels on it and I am looking to go back to “original” steelies. Who has a good replacement for these now? I’m definitely not wanting the 16.5” wheels, but I am open to possibly replacing with F*rd E250 wheels. Any suggestions?

I never found any good aftermarket copies. The Ford van are still fairly easy to find, but I scrounged around for about a year to gather GM 80's era 16". Ended up with 9 and picked the best four. Be sure to check the lug nut holes. A lot of these have been wallowed out from high torque. Once they lose their shape, they squeeze down on the nose of the lug nut cone and distort the stud threads.

BTW, I am running the 70's to 80's era hub caps as well. Looks completely natural on a '71 C20.

You can buy 16" factory style wheels from trailer supply businesses, but they'll be expensive compared to junk yard 16 x 7 Accurides. The Accurides can on E250, E350, F250, and F350s. The F-series went metric in the late-90s. Those won't say Accuride on them. Later E-series may not have the hubcap nubs, so be sure to check for that. Ford stopped using hubcaps, either plastic wheel covers or open wheel

These are what I found. They only come in black but had them powder coated white. Expensive but really nice wheels.

Those are Wheel Vintiques pr whatever Coker calls them now. The problem with those is they goofed up by not putting the four vent slots in. They are obviously not original wheels at just a glance. My friend calls them skid loader wheels . I have 16 x 8s on my '72. With the wider wheels you don't notice the lack of slots as much as stock width

What about these? Would they work?

Still seem a little pricey, but nothing with autos is cheap.

I agree special-K you really don't notice it so much with the 8" wheel. I ask this before I ordered but they said they only come solid no vents. I do think they look ok though I'm happy with them.

Dorman. I just went through this with the 21,000 mile 69 C20. They are vented, 16 x 7, grey powder coated. Of course 8 lug.

Darn right they look ok, as does the rest of your truck! Nice!

I agree they look great. I have them on my '72 K2500. But the question is for stock replacement wheels. Stock had slots and stock was 6". The lack of slots would stick out like a sore thumb.

I don't know why anybody would buy a set of new wheels when the beauty of steel wheels is you can make old wheels look brand new.

Thanks yuccales and special-K and yes I agree if a guy wants stock 6" wheels. I have set of the Dorman 7" plus they are readily available and are a nice wheel.

I feel the 16 x 7s resemble the look of the factory 16.5s (6.75") better than the later GM 16s. A 17 x 7 wheel would be another nice option.
