Rear Air Shocks
 

I have 71 GMC Suburban I have lowered 5"back about the same on the front with springs and dropped spindles. Someone else C notched the frame. I am planning on towing a car trailer and I want to put air shocks on the rear to help the correct trailering height. I wondered about the height of the shocks. Has anyone else done this? Thanks

You would probably be better off with some of the coil/airbag type levelers. Shocks and shock mounts are really not intended to support weight. They just take the bounce out of the springs. A car trailer has the potential to be pretty heavy and moving the weight back to "take it off the tongue" is quite dangerous. Be sure you have it right and that the truck can support it properly.

Maybe torsion bars, if your hitch is capable of handling them?

Air shocks are an inexpensive way to give a light in the rear vehicle like a Camaro a bit more nose down look without putting much load on the shock mounts. 2nd the thought that they really aren't intended to carry hundreds of pounds of trailer tongue weight.

Might look at a "Weight Leveling Hitch" instead.

air shocks didn,t work on my blazer, the shock angle was too much and would not push the shocks up.

Air shocks for your application is not the best idea. A helper air bag set-up (air bag inside of the coil spring) or just swapping the rear coils out for an air-spring set-up is definitely a better option.
