Too bad it's blue :hm:
Interesting color combo, blue paint and gold interior? Do you have any interior pictures?

And the bad news.......... The fenders had CST/20 emblems, but not on the spid. Been sitting along time. Will only sell parts, and there is no title. Sorry jud, i tried.

I had to dig down about 8" in the mud and water was filling the holes in to get the hubs. There are NO wheels and tires on front. I won!

Your're killing me! this was quite the truck when new. Its a very unusual truck, to the point it feels like a special order but doesn't appear to have been. The option list is almost exclusively heavy hitters! 508 Dk blue, CST, AC, tach, cab lights, 350, no spin, doesn't get much better than that, but with a 3 ott trans!?! Gold and blue?!? Make it a 4spd or auto and blue or black interior and it would be how I would have ordered one.

too bad it doesn't have a title, at least you got some good parts off it.

Jud, I don't see a CST on the spid, but auto trans is. He wants $25 for the glovebox door if you want me to grab it next time i am over that way. The blue and gold was odd i thought.

Nice score on the hubs. I don't see a cargo lamp listed on the SPID either - wonder if was included in the marker lamp RPO...

See, I got so excited, I didn't even see the auto on there. Even better.

I'm thinking the Z84 (CST) not being on the SPID was an error. It appears to be a CST given the cargo light. Also that killer option list is more believable on a top trim level. I have a 70 Janesville truck with no interior color on the SPID- I think that plant missed things on SPID's from time to time.

Please grab the door with SPID, I was going to ask if you could buy it.

I will get the door for you. I just assumed it was a CST with the marker lights on the fenders, CST/20 on the fenders, cargo light and it does have a headliner in it.

Re: 70 K-20 pics for vintage windmills

That makes sense Eric, and probably never a cab swap either given the marker lamps.

The gold wasn't as bad as it sounds, it was actually more of a light brown/tan than gold color.

Got the door for you. It has had a repaint on the outside. The cab VIN does not match the glovebox door and is for a 2wd. I know the rivets are not correct however. The cab does seem to match everything.

Tim or tim, it is a CST glovebox door with no mention on the SPID. Any thoughts?
Anyone have thoughts on the transfer case shifter arm? The bends don't seem quite right to me. And it does take the smaller, fine thread knob.

Looks like the 70 np205/manual tranny transfer case shifter. Trevor

Huh - looks to have all the trappings of a CST but not listed on SPID

Interesting truck, would love to have seen it when new

Was it on a 4x4 frame? It kind of smells like a put together truck. Would be interesting to check the frame VIN of it is a 4x4 frame.

Good deal on the box door Eric.

Probably a factory error that CST was not on the SPID. The emblem is properly placed on the box door, the cab lights are there, cargo light, and even with the relatively rare CST/20 emblems. For someone to get all that right on a built truck back in the day just seems like a tall order and not likely.

Guys, heres an example of an error on a SPID from Janesville in 69. Note there is no interior color listed.

I agree on the transfer case arm Kevin. 70 only or maybe late 69. Bends toward the driver to clear the SM465 shift pattern, IIRC. I have a chrome version of one for my K20 that will go in soon. I believe the chrome version of the t-case handle is a CST only thing but could be wrong.

Take care,
Tom

The truck has an auto trans still in it. Any chance that it is correct?

Correct, the CST or cheyenne trucks would have the chrome shifter handle.

Probably still in the truck even...

Re: 70 K-20 pics for vintage windmills

I misread Eric's post, I thought he said the SPID was from a 2wd but now that I actually look I can clearly see the SPID is for a 4wd and Eric was saying the cab VIN was from a 2wd.
There are still some interesting questions. Like why was the cab VIN changed? And with the cab VIN being changed, does the frame VIN match the VIN tag, the SPID, or neither? If the frame VIN matches the SPID then I think your case for CST missing from the glove box door gets stronger.

Re: 70 K-20 pics for vintage windmills

Eric, it could be correct but to my knowledge that is a 70' only np205 shifter for a sm465. The auto 70 shifters look like the 71-72 np205 shifters, but are moved over further to come out more towards the center of the hump. Here is a pic I took of both types of 70 shifter, don't pay attention to the wrong 4speed tranny shifter.http://i481.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/P3270774.jpg

Thanks trevor, mine looks like the one you are holding onto in that pic. So i can assume it has been changed at some point? I think i have a 69 CST blazer shifter handle here i should dig out. I think that was for a 205/auto. I think that would be an oddball one also.
