C10 OEM 2wd dog dish cap types

Forgive me if this is covered, I couldn't find what I am looking for using the search function.

I have been buying replacement dog dish caps on ebay (and getting a good deal) for my 70 C10. My OG caps are smashed, so I bought two and they were quite a bit taller, that is to say they extend away from the wheel more. I bought another pair and they are lower, closer to the wheel. I'm thinking that the taller caps might be 3/4 tons caps? Here is a pic of the taller caps:https://www.instagram.com/p/BN-b3QGgD3E/

This is driving me nuts, because I like the taller caps much more and I want to get two more to match without buying the lower ones by mistake.

Does anyone have a clue what the difference is? Thanks in advance.

Of all the many caps I have seen I have never noticed one taller than the other. 1/2t and 3/4t are distinctly different and unmistakable. There is no mistaking one for the other. The 3/4t (and 1t) caps are about 1 1/2" larger diameter. 3/4t won't fit a 1/2t wheel and vise versa

I have noticed an auction on ebay for k5 caps. Were those different than the 2wd trucks?

Only difference would be the caps for the front wheels would have a hole in the center for the 4WD hub.

There were only two types of hubcaps, 1/2t and 3/4t & 1t, small and big. Blazer/Jimmy is 1/2t. Of course, you could say there are four if you include 4wd front caps that are the same as 2wd except a whole in the center for the hub

Let me help, since factory stuff is my forte. The pic you have is the base model 1/2 ton C 10 cap used between 1973 and 1978. Don't worry, these are indentical to the '69-'72 base model 1/2 ton C 10 cap, except the bow tie would be blue instead of gold. They are both steel. Chrome versions were optional '69-'72 and some '73's. Stainless was used generally from '73-'75. The flat type ( completely different style-but still fits) you mention must be the '76-'87 aluminum cap. Was the optional cap in '76 '77 '78, became the standard base model C 10 cap '79-'87 and up to the 90's on vans. All these 1/2 tons measure approx. 10 1/4 across, all 3/4+ 1 tons are taller and wider measure approx. 12" across.

This is a perfect example of a thread that is useless without pictures.
