One piece vs vent window rebuild

Hello again everyone. Trying to start the new year by getting back on track on my 1968 C-10. Trying to decide weather to replace my rusted out vent windows or just replace the entire window with a one piece kit. I read some older posts and wondering how the quality of the kits have progressed? It looks like the price would be about the same if I purchased new vents. Thanks for all the info you all post.

I've heard that the one piece kits don't fit all that well.

However, I wouldn't give up my vent windows for anything. They are one of my absolute favorite features of old trucks.

I know what you mean. I remember the vents from my older cars, nice breeze!

unless your truck has lots of other sleek body modifications just replace the wind wings.

Not to mention you have to insert an unsightly piece of trim in the front corner where the on piece window will not fit.

Old trucks have "personality" and one of the many things that give them that personality is vent windows.

Well the desicision was made to keep the wing vents. Found the one glass channel I needed yesterday locally. Thanks to teeitup for offering his parts. Now It's on to ordering new rubber and get my doors back together!

I love the look of the wing windows, but hate all the wind noise. Has anybody caulked them shut and solved it? Any other solutions for the wind noise?

There are so many sources of wind noise on these old trucks (especially Blazers) that I think it's impractical to try to get rid of them all. If the rubber is in good shape, the vent shouldn't make much noise when it's closed. And gluing them shut would defeat the purpose of having vent windows.
