2 door tahoe ss

I recently bought a 97 2dr 2wd tahoe and have been kicking around the idea of building it into a sort of more upgraded 454ss inspired suv with the ss paint scheme a vortec 454 and tahoe limited or z71 tahoe front bumper. anyone else have any ideas for it or maybe a photoshop to help with "the vision". I think this would be a pretty fun project.

I think it would be pretty cool. GMC did something similar and they called it the Yukon GT. It wasn't the 454 though. That would be cool.

Stylin' Concepts catalog has shown some SS-inspired front bumper/valances for the '88-98 body. I like the look that they have. Drop it with spindles/springs up front and C-notch the rear with a 6-inch drop. Since those are a touch top-heavy, it would be good to lose some of that altitude if you are going for a sporty look.

Re: 2 door tahoe ss

yeah those bumpers are nice but i think im going to try to use as many stock parts from various 88-98s as possible s I really like how the tahoe limiteds had fog light in the bumper rather than airdam. Ive got ss wheels with astro centers on it right now, but i would like to do a 4/6 drop though. I would also like to make the interior a more red than the 454s came with and maybe a escalade center console and recover some stock bucket seats in red leather.

I say go for it. Sounds like you have a real nice plan in mind. I think it would look great.

The Tahoe Limited front bumper is just a painted diesel bumper, with foglights and fillers in the holes. They also had a unique gauge cluster, wheels, two tone leather seats, and the rocker extensions, too. I like your idea of mixing and matching factory parts for your 2 door Tahoe. Should be a cool project.

I didnt know the cluster was different did it just have white needles like the escalade/denali?

BTW, if you can find a COPO speedo, they go to 140. There are a few wires you have to swap for them to work... there's lots of info on this at FSC.

XXL, was that vehicle lowered? I have the stock valance on my truck and I really have to watch to be sure I don't drag it on "stuff"....and it is just 2-inches further down on the totem pole.

Very... 6.5"/9" ... and the SC valance, being mounted further forward is even easier to scrape.

I recall seeing a couple of "Joe Gibson" modified trucks. One had a T-56 installed. Of course these were factory small blocks. You might consider replacing the auto with a T-56 six speed.... helping the fuel mileage.

That was on my mod list, going behind a stroked LS2... never got around to it before getting rid of the 'Ho :(

Pickup clutch pedal brackets are a bolt-in. The reast has to be fabbed, but you're just looking at a slave cylinder, a trans xmember, some floor surgery, and driveshaft work. It would be a superb mod!
