Alright let's see some pics of trucks with a tpi, tuned port injection, setup installed. Also bonus points if you got custom a/c and a smooth firewall. Show me what ya got.

These units were designed to operate at or below 4000 rpm to make power. Stock tpi is not great on the top end. But what you will gain is torque and MUCH better throttle response. No question I installed a tpi from an iroc on my 350 and you could FEEL the difference. This is going from a quadrajet to the tpi. So I strongly advocate tpi, but do not confuse it for a HP adder. You will increase drivablility and torque and fuel economy somewhat. I can leave my truck for months at a time while I am at college and when I return home I can barley hit the switch and it fires to life. That is my humble opinion from my personal experience. You can buy all sorts of aftermarket pieces from edelbrock to hop these units up, but the stock will operate best around town, not at the track. |
