Balljoint Won't Take Grease
Rebuilding front end on 04 Yukon, only hiccup is the new moog upper control arm has a ball joint that won't take grease. The balljoint nut is barely started, was going to grease it before tightening. Grease gun builds enough pressure that I can barely squeeze it. Am I going to waste a week exchanging this from Rock auto or can y'all help with some knowledge.

Did you try another grease fitting? (Zerk)
Maybe it's just the fitting, If not I would return it. |
Re: Balljoint Won't Take Grease
Return it means send it back to Rock auto and my daily sits until the replacement shows.

Re: Balljoint Won't Take Grease
If the zerk isn't the problem you have a limited number of choices. None of them are fun.
Send it back and wait a fortnight for a replacement. Or Send it back for a refund and buy one locally from NAPA or O'Riley or ... I assume the local option is noticeably more money. Depends on how bad you need it. If you need it sooner than the return and send window then local is the only choice at at that point. Looks like mail order is headed back to 1980's JC Whitney service levels now. Anyone remember waiting three months for VW bug parts? |

Re: Balljoint Won't Take Grease
Resolution was to rotate the stud 180⁰ at which point it behaved normally and I quit losing my crap.

I currently have this issue with my lower ball joints on my tahoe. I have replaced the zerks and its still hard to get the grease in.
