CCP new tilt steering column ?

Yes I did the search and have read several topics of the aftermarket tilt columns. I would like to know if anyone has "new" ccp tilt column and are you happy with it? I am looking one for with floor shift and they are quite cheap at Summit compared to others.

Allso, standard lenght seems to be 36" But I would prefer to have shorter column to bring first u-joint closer to the firewall. How much shorter stilll works ?

I've always used Ididit. Yeah a bit more cash but zero issues and good tech support.

CCP? Chinese Communist Parts?;) Actually, I suspect that's where most CPP parts are made. "Quite cheap" is not something you want with brake and steering parts.

I have never been happy with any of their products, and would suggest Ididit or Flaming River instead.

I got mine about a year ago. at the time, it was the improved design. It's like factory perfect, and uber easy install. Take what you hear about CPP like a grain of salt, - those that badmouth are typically "older gen" and don't respect diversity and other countries products - despite China having some really good quality items, and just as many bad as the USA. Just because it's made in "Merica doesn't make it great.

I have seen their crap in person with customers vehicles at work, personally I would never buy anything they offer-just my opinion.

LOL! I came to this post with the same thinking about CCP :) I have a brand new CPP disk/disk master cylinder in hand that was sent with my hydroboost unit that I will not put on my truck. Will offer it up to someone in the future for cost of shipping.
Believe there is a post or two about the CPP columns not lining up correctly when installed. The shift indicator is tilted to the right. Would have to search for them, I do not feel like doing that now. Only one thing I would be cautious of.

Great, this was good info. I am on budget and do need to consider where to put my money. Yes, I do prefer us made parts, but its a fact at most of the repro and resto parts comes from chaina or taiwan.

You know, it's not necessarily China, per se, it's the LOWEST BIDDERS in China that some USA companies use.

Wow, those are some nasty comments above by fellow member Casper42.:( I won't stoop to his level, but will say he's been very fortunate if he has truly experienced no problems with CPP parts. I've used a few of them on a 55 Chevy car, and had quality and fit issues with each of them. Their tubular upper control arms were nice, but the included ball joints had cracked dust boots right out of the box! I ended up using Moog ball joints instead.

Speaking of Moog, they are a good example of quality parts no matter where they are made.

I also have to say that I've spoken with more than one vendor about their decisions to not sell certain ChiCom parts that are poorly made. My most recent example is H&H Classics not being able to offer some 55-57 Chevy parts (window regulators?) for some period of time, because they were all poorly made. And I suspect GMC Paul's would have similar stories. However, I don't want to speak for either of these excellent vendors.

Check with KevsClassics here on the forum.
I’ve had him restore two of my GM tilt columns.
Absolutely the best quality.
He’s known for his work here and on Instagram.
None better.

Is it better if bay it from Holley / Brothers truck?

Can you advice me, why there are to lenghts listed for my application 30" and 33" ? Is the difference on cluster side or firewall side ?

Re: CCP new tilt steering column ?

Just wanted to echo that I tried a CPP column, but it felt cheap. I wound up getting a GM truck tilt column that was rebuilt by Les (70shortfleet), and he's local. My cousin got one too - no complaints. Great guy.

Edit - My CPP column wasn't the latest version.

Check the vendor comment section, searching CCP (mistitled thread). There are comments about their steering columns in addition to the brake parts initially discussed.

KevsClassics can make you a floor shift column also.
Sounds like you just need an Ididit aftermarket column.
Original GM columns are the best, in my opinion.

I have installed CPP Columns before.. for the money it was good.. IDIDIT is top quality for sure and you can see and feel the difference when you compare the two...but if you need a good cheap column CPP isn't bad.. I don't know about Brothers columns but I had heard they come from the same place as the CPP.. that is not verified though..

Re: CCP new tilt steering column ?

Something to think about before buying an inexpensive column. Be sure to read pages 13-14.

https://www.lvvta.org.nz/documents/i...ng_Columns.pdf

Would be nice if SEMA would alert us to these kind of issues with critical function components.

apparently you don't have the ability to detect cyber-bullies. this person is a classic. Your response alone is just short of the same and infers you and they know one another...thus you're taking sides.

The first generation CPP tilt columns were complete junk.

From what I’ve heard, the new ones are supposed to be quite nice. Saw one a few weeks ago and was impressed. That being said, if you can source out an original, that’s what I would do. In fact, it’s what I did.
